| My view of my leadership challenge |

I'm having a problem with ... Fred and Mary's failure to perform on our project for Ace Online. Fred's team is late with deliveries; and Ace representatives complain about service quality from Mary's people. And, neither his nor her team seems motivated

Tracy's having a leadership problem because we aren't ... delivering as promised on the Ace Online contract. But, we feel it's not resourced well; nor has anyone communicated (to us or our people) why it's a priority - particularly since the Ace people are always difficult. It's all too hard

Ask Fred and Mary to arrange a joint meeting of their teams early next week, so I can explain why Ace Online is so critical in the new markets we're entering; and, also provide background on the difficulties Ace is having and hence the pressure on their employees. Provide time for Q&A.

Discuss with our Exec. Committee whether I can obtain two part-time staff to assist with peak service loads in Fred's and Mary's areas. Meantime, starting Monday, arrange for Sylvia (from Accounts) and Bill (from IT) to provide training in use of the new client-service systems.
